Clinical Care

In clinical service, we partner with families and with primary care clinicians. Family-centered care entails listening carefully to families and children as they share their stories, acknowledging their strengths, respecting their cultural roots, meeting their needs, and sharing decision-making.  We follow the biopsychosocial model of human development, considering the unique factors that influence a child’s development as the integration of biological, social, emotional, economic, and political forces. We emphasize a child’s functional abilities over categorical diagnoses. Different models of shared management with primary care clinicians provide seemless transitions in care.
