Official Research Title: Individual differences in visual processing in children with developmental dyslexia
Prinicipal Investigator: Jason Yeatman, PhD
Research Coordinators: Megumi Takada & Kenny Tang
Study Description: The development of interventions to improve reading skills has been a major focus in academia and industry. However, individual differences pose a fundamental challenge for the effectiveness of reading intervention programs. Children with dyslexia struggle with reading for a myriad of reasons; rather than considering dyslexics as a single homogenous group, the disorder is better thought of as a collection of different impairments, or sub-types. This research seeks to understand the various factors that contribute to reading difficulties and develop personalized approaches to intervention.
