Clinical Case Conference

Clinical Case Conference

This weekly seminar allows fellows to meet ACGME competencies for:

  • Patient care
  • Medical knowledge
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills
  • Professionalism
  • Practice-based learning and improvement
  • Systems-based Practice

Fellows participate in the weekly Clinical Case Conference that includes the faculty, fellows, and residents on service. This case conference offers opportunities for the interdisciplinary staff to discuss challenging cases from the week.
The fellows and residents present the cases that they have found challenging. They discuss their history, physical findings, and testing protocol. The goals of this series also include review of research methods and teaching skills. Fellows will solicit cases or topics from all clinicians or will bring to the group cases from their own clinical experience. When appropriate, fellows will provide current literature on the topic of interest.

Evaluation is based on aggregate impression of the fellow’s engagement, patient care skills, fund of knowledge, clinical approaches, and referral to appropriate services, agencies, and evaluation assessments.
